As a company our foundation comes from deep faith. The beautiful thing about our organization is we are from different back grounds and denominations. Some of of us may or may not have grown up in a part of the country or walk of faith where Lent was practiced. However Easter is a part of the natural rhythm in this company, for various reasons. Lent is the Season, of 40 days before Easter when we can deny ourselves of something we traditionally engage with or rely upon. It could be something we enjoy like chocolate or cokes; it could be something we eat to much of like red meat or fried food; this is about finding ways to pause your life you could deny yourself from something electronic…games, t.v., facebook. Lent is a season in the calendar where we remember at one point in His life Christ denied himself for 40 days. For centuries followers of Jesus have emulated His life by finding ways to deny themselves the 40 days before Easter. In our society today that has so much…what can we give up for the next 40 days?
Thanks CCF Family, for your contributions this past month to the Rogers, AR Laundry Love Project. Pictured here are two girls who spent a rainy night in March, painting each others nails and coloring pictures as their parents did loads of laundry provided by our contributions. Like many non-profits in the area, whether it is food, shelter, or clean clothes…that is simply an avenue to building relationships. Over the course of this night there were great discussions on how people survived the huge snow storm last month. Relationships were built as we discussed how to take care of on-going health issues. More than likely you can always find someone happy to share their theology with you. The first Friday of every month there are pockets of community that are happening, where people from different walks of life gather to clean clothes, and share life…when you leave…you always see a smile.
Tis the season around CCF. Last night was our Super Bowl Party with the majority of people going how happy since the Packers won. It was a great time with too much food, creative games, centered around the commercials, and what turned out to be a great game. Kenni set up a squares game, I don’t think we can really call gambling, it was all luck, and most of us didn’t know what we were doing. There were a lot of laughs, and only tears were shed by Steeler Fans. Good time was had by all, just another one of the benefits of working with people that enjoy being together. Now we look ahead to the next time CCF associates gather to build relationships…
